Villa Artemis sits atop the hilltop area of Rogdia, overlooking a breathtaking view of the deep blue sea of Crete. The views of the Sea and the gulf of Crete, surrounded by pastoral green hilltops and countryside place the visiting guests in a state of peaceful relaxation and regeneration.
Rodgia, is the name of the village above the villa, which gets its name from an ancient church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, called Chiesa Rogdia, which dates back to the Venetian settlement of the area in 1553. There is an old Venetian tower in the old village that reminds us of the Venetian origins of the area. Rogdia is a friendly and pleasant village above the villa, which offers markets and dining options for the guests. There is beautiful and peaceful monastery/nunnery at the very top of the mountain, which offers the guests beautiful, contemplative gardens and a look at a church that goes back 500 years. Rogdia is famous amongst the locals for having the finest in Greek restaurants and tavernas. The local residents know that the tavernas are both best in quality, and with spectacular views of sea and the distant city of Heracleon. The villa, is within a ONE minute walk to one of the best tavernas in the area and within walking distance to four more eating places, yet when you relax by the beautiful pool, you will feel totally private and secluded from everyone.
The villa can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably and is comprised of three levels of living space. There is a private pool and pool Jacuzzi function overlooking the gorgeous Sea of Crete, surrounded by a lovely garden of flowers and fruit trees. The guests will feel at home in the spacious surroundings, but will also feel like they have been transported to a beautiful and private exotic sanctuary of Mediterranean sky and sea, softened by gentle cool sea breezes.
